Little League Parade

One of the nice things about our subdivision having it's own sports league is that there is a real strong sense of community.  One of the things that goes on annually is a parade down the main street of the subdivision on the opening day of the baseball season featuring all of the little sluggers.

Benjamin is playing t-ball this season and his team has been practicing for about a month now with his first game coming up on April 2nd.  He got his uniform just before the parade and I think the excitement is just now starting to hit him.  He's been asking me to play catch or let him hit off the tee in the back yard several nights in a row.
His team met at a location and were promptly given donut holes, which Bekah enjoyed as well.
Then they all ran around for a bit....Bekah certainly didn't want to be excluded from that either.
They loaded up the pickup truck and headed out.
At this point Jennifer, Bekah and myself headed down the road to find a place to park and then find a suitable location along the parade route to cheer for the Angels as they passed by.
The parade was led by a fire engine and had at least 70 pickups/teams in it.  It was 1,100 kids.  I was pretty impressed with the turnout for the parade....the street was lined pretty much as far as I could see in both directions.
Here are the Angels!

After the parade there was a big opening ceremony at the baseball fields, where Bekah enjoyed herself.

It was a busy (and early) morning for us all but Benjamin was excited and seems to be looking forward to the season.

Family Time

Bekah thinks I'm cool.  This won't last long.  In the meantime, she likes to dress like me, hence the robe...
B and I had a two hour geography lesson last Thursday.  His focus was impressive. It was he who pursued the content...
Ryan finally hung my new Romans... Love...
Sunday morning we all sat on the patio and soaked in the cool weather.  B was hyperfocused on a dinosaur excavation project.  Bekah colored and played in the sandbox.
 The good life...

Behind The Times

So, we have been busy and sick.  This post is more of a "picture dump" than any great anecdote.  Just wanted to let you know we are still alive and kickin' it!

Lots of art...
Lots of dragging the kiddos to pick up our fruit and veggie shares...
Poor little sick face...
 Lots of Magnatile play...
 The kids LOVE these!

At Play

They were feeling silly this night after dinner: rolling on the floor...

 Laughing...
Then he pulled her around by her shirt as if she were a dog.  She thought it was too funny, and it lasted a remarkable ten minutes!
A morning of fun with Play Doh...
She dressed as a badass for our trip to Dallas...
 Sick day play...
I love how they find creative toys and activities to engage themselves.  Bekah just dumped the tangram pieces out and put them back into the bag over and over.  B sorted and dressed the magnetic doll in all of his uniforms.  Add in some puzzles, magnet play, cleaning, pretend p;ay, and an hour of bath fun, but you will never find a dull moment.
 May they always know...

Goings Ons

Last week we went over to a friends' house to make Hamentashen, a traditional Purim treat.  The kids had a big time making their pastries...

Sunday we went down the street to a friend's birthday party wherein the kiddos enjoyed a bounce house...

On Tuesday we went to HEB for a special tour for kids!

Bekah was pumped about the crown, but B declined...until he stole hers...
B even got to enter the freezer...if only for a minute...

And some family time... Notice that Bekah is standing ON Ryan...
In other news, Bekah is now nodding her head "yes" which is really tremendously helpful!
