St. Louis

Last Thursday Baby B made his first big roadtrip to St. Louis. My cousin married a lovely woman whom we all instantly loved. The wedding was loads of fun, and the family visit was fulfilling. Baby B behaved 99% perfectly for the duration of the trip, including the car ride. Thankfully, especially after driving straight from Houston to St. Louis on zero sleep, he bunked with his Grandmommy the entire weekend. It's so lovely just to see my baby at meals! I guess we did start to miss him a bit, but the sleep was nice. As you might have noticed, every time B spends time with his Grandmommy he comes home with new "tricks." Well, last weekend he learned the joys of eating finger foods at the table. Yes, folks, he sat through every meal like a big kid shoveling bits and pieces into his mouth. Frankly, I think he ate more and more quickly than the rest of us combined. It's too bad I still have a house full of baby food! Onwards and upwards.

On Sunday, before driving back to Dallas, we went to a Cardinals game. It was B's first MLB game, but he lasted only four innings. After that he was tired and hungry. Apparently children are they keys to getting Ryan to leave a game early. Thank God I found the secret...even if it is five years into matrimonial bliss.

Overall, the getaway was an enjoyable change of pace for us all. Pictures are uploaded into the "July" link on the right-hand side of the webpage.
