A Special Treat!

After we had an impromptu dinner with Grumpa and Grammy tonight, we headed over to Baskin Robbins for their thirty-one cent scoop night. (Thank you, Sandra, for letting me know about this!) When we arrived, we were THRILLED to see that the firemen and paramedics were there to visit with the kiddos! This was B's first time (but, shamefully, not first opportunity) to explore emergency vehicles. B was so excited that he even said a word or two to the firemen and paramedics despite his shy phase.

B was even invited INTO the fire truck!

Then we headed into the very long line to get our scoops of ice cream. I do think this was B's first trip to an ice cream shop.

We all sat on the curb enjoying our ice cream and the nice weather.

On the way home we re-capped the experience. When discussing the fire truck B said, "I was so excited to see that little boy in the other seat!" Rightly so, there was another toddler sitting in the driver's seat of the fire truck when B climbed into the passenger seat. Apparently, since B is in his "friend" phase, other tots now make the highlight reel. All in all, it was a great family date night. And it only cost us ninety-nine cents and a $1.01 donation to the fire station! What a deal!
