Bye-bye old house. Benjamin asked me yesterday if we could drive by our old house because he didn't get to give it a kiss and hug good-bye. I'm not sure how the new owner would react to my sweet baby snuggling up to his brick.
We closed on the house a week ago. It was bitter sweet. I didn't think I would have any reaction except relief, but I am holding back the "miss" of a very memorable and happy home. It sounds like B is doing the same.
We did take the kids with us to the closing table. I wanted them to be a part of the process, the formality, the transition. Perhaps I wanted them to distract me a bit, too. Nevertheless, they were wonderful.
Sunday morning, after a long day of moving that was Saturday, B was treated to a lovely morning of waffle making with Grumpa. At least our temporary move is a happy place!
