Today was Benjamin's actual birthday but since everything is so crazy with our moving we are holding off on having his party....but we had to do something for the little guy today.
Well, we kind of put him to work. The four of us went over to the new house and Benjamin helped me blue tape it.
He was pretty hard on the painters so I had to give him my homeowner talk about having to stand so far back from the wall and explain what was too picking and what was ok. He followed the rules to a T.
In the evening we had our traditional Lupe Tortilla birthday for him, except Mama wasn't feeling well so I went and picked it up for the family and Sean & Katie came over.
My dad dissapeared towards the end of dinner and arrived a different man.
They are taking Jennifer and the kids on a Disney Cruise for the week of Halloween and this was how they suprised the kids with the news.
Benjamin had a costume as well, and was REALLY reluctant to put it on but I told him we could scare Uncle Sean and that seemed to do the trick.
Once he got into the costume we couldn't get him out of it.
I would say that everyone was slightly worried that either the sword or his hat were going to end up on fire, but he managed to keep everything safe....he even offered to cut the cake with his sword.
Bekah got to try on her costume as well....she's going to be a great Tinkerbell.
What a team.
We finally got Benjamin changed back to normal clothes (sans the boots) and he got to open his present from his parents....
....and from Uncle Sean & Katie. That isn't even a posed photo - he was legitimately excited. I'm not sure if Jennifer has mentioned this but he has a construction equipment book that he literally studies - and it has a little quiz in the back that he always wants to take.
After everyone left and I bathed him we came downstairs to go bed and he kind of sighed and said, "Dada, this was a really fun day." There isn't a kid on the face of this earth who deserves it more.
Happy Birthday My Main Man!
