Long time, no blog! My bad. We've been pretty busy around here. Here's the highlight reel:
Last week B enjoyed some Spanish Story Time where we visited his special friend, Anita, who works there. On Tuesday, he was most interested in the dancing and singing portions of the event. Remember, he's the only baby that sings (uh, howls) along with the songs.
We had to reschedule Gymboree for Wednesday morning. It was a 9am call time, and I learned that early morning is not B's most active time of day. He did quite a bit of observing. I'm pretty sure he missed his girlfriend, Kate. Don't worry, this week we'll be back on our Tuesday schedule.
After Gymboree we rushed home to bake the last few items on my T-giving Contribution List. As usual, that took longer than I anticipated. Nevertheless, I kept B awake well past his nap time to ensure that I'd have a sleeping child as we drove out to the ranch. The plan backfired a bit when he only slept for about an hour of the drive. I think I must have passed my excited energy onto him.
When we arrived at the ranch we were greeted by a pack of wild dogs...kind of. TJ and Emily are now the proud owners of THREE dogs, all sweet as can be, two horses, and acres and acres of responsibility. It's a tall task for socialites with a calender more demanding than the President. As always, TJ and Em were fun as can be. My aunt and mom were in town, too, so we went out to eat at a little place in Walburg, TX. I won't get into the heart-clogging meal that I ate, but let's just say I'm still craving more!
Thursday we were joined by Dad, Cindy, Aunt Panchita, Ryan, and Sean. Since B seems to be on a toy strike (no interest whatsoever,) he was happy as a clam going from lap to lap. Everyone was happy to keep him the center of attention, and he was happy to receive it. Unfortunately, we had to drive back to Houston to take care of our dogs. B slept the whole way. It must have been the turkey...wait, nope, he only ate the rolls.
This weekend Ryan worked on finishing all of the floors. B was so interested and committed to helping any way he could, that he stood at the baby gate, as close as he could get, and cheered on his Dada for TWO DAYS STRAIGHT! The child is committed.
Add in some quality time with the Levys, some walks, some store visits, some pumpkin muffins, and you can see that B had a great week!
