Last Saturday some good friends threw me a baby shower. I really felt bad about having a shower for the second child, but I am grateful and joyful nonetheless. It was really quite lovely. Dawn and Julie worked very hard, and every detail was perfect. Unfortunately, yet in true Jennifer fashion, I was more concerned with enjoying myself than documenting the experience! The moms were all from our playgroup, so we enjoyed bringing the kiddos along to partake in the festivities. They played together until they could hard find the energy to stand. B even received a special big brother gift!
Here is the lovely diaper cake the Dawn made for Baby Rebekah. You can see that I didn't even take the picture until we got home! I just thought this was so special...
The shower was at Julie's house which B loves primarily due to the toy closet under the stairwell. He and Amelia (a spirited and beautiful wild-child) sat in the toy box for the last half-hour. I wasn't sure why or what they were doing, but I assume they were just too tired to get out.
I am so grateful for all of the lovely gifts and the lovely time. For the past few days I have been gathering all of the remaining "needs" in order to prepare for this baby. I have been having a number of strong contractions for the past two weeks, so I realized that I needed to step up my game because this baby could come early. (Of course, with my luck, she won't come until my scheduled c-section date. We're gearing up for a LONG, HOT July!)
