Grammy was also very excited to share her new set of gifts for Baby Rebekah. We were beyond excited and surprised to receive them! You see, as I've mentioned before, we very much wanted to give our children names shared with a long history of religious or familial significance. Well, Grammy was able to find this porcelain collector's doll of "Rebecca." While her tags indicate that she is modeled after a Russian immigrant that came through Ellis Island, she is a beautiful reminder of Ryan's Jewish heritage and my beloved Nana. (It is my understanding that Nana's family arrived at Ellis Island from Russia.) This doll is most certainly a gift that offers a special connection to both Rebekah's maternal and paternal histories. (As usual my photo doesn't do her beauty justice.)Monday, June 6, 2011
Levy Time!
Sunday night we headed over to the Levy's house to share some Lupe Tortilla take-out and lots of play time. Always the resourceful teacher and attentive grandmother, Grammy whipped out of her bad o' tricks a small pot including a soil and seed packet. She assisted B with a big planting adventure that he took very seriously. Maybe he will become the green thumb of the family...Lord knows we need one! (Teach him, Grammy!)
