Hangin' in There

Well, last Sunday we all headed to the circus. B really seemed to enjoy the show, but unfortunately it was cut short for us. I began to have time table contractions ten, then five minutes apart. I called the on-call doc at intermission, and she said to get to the hospital. By the time I arrived my contractions were 2-3 minutes apart. They kept me overnight, but I had no physical progress to accompany the contractions. I was sent home Monday morning. Since I don't sleep in hospitals Monday and Tuesday were spent recuperating from the exhaustion and confusion of the experience.

On Wednesday we finally ventured out for half-price fajita night at Pappasitos. Unfortunately all of Houston had the same idea, and we ended up waiting for forty-five minutes wherein B passed out. Even though B was exhausted and would have preferred to sleep through the meal, the food was delicious as usual.

Thursday we had a big time when Julie and Hannah came over to wear out Benjamin. He was going a bit stir crazy, so it was really nice for me to be able to stay in my pajamas in my home while B was entertained for hours...for FREE no less! Then to cap off the day we were able to head to the med center to visit Grammy! It was B's first time to visit her in many weeks, so he was thrilled.

Friday I took B to the movies to enjoy "Winnie The Pooh." I wasn't a huge fan, and, frankly, I don't think B was too impressed either. :(

For the past two days we have been taking our reality check seriously and actually preparing for this baby! Lots of cleaning, laundry, carseat installing, preparing for Mom to stay, etc. We have worked our tails off. Frankly, since I am still contracting we thought this little one might actually make her arrival this weekend, but she is no where to be seen.

I have a couple of errands to run tomorrow and then a doctor's appointment on Tuesday. I'd sure like to have this baby sooner than later. Since I am full term I think it is reasonable to BEG for my c-section now so that I can at least stop enduring endless contractions. I mean, the upside of having a scheduled c-section SHOULD be that you don't ALSO have to experience labor, right? We shall see...
