Hanukkah Happiness

The best part of any holiday is spending time with family at home. We love to travel and visit loved ones all over, but there sure is something soothing about time spent in our own space. Since these two precious little peeps have been under the weather, we have been nursing everyone back to health while enjoying some (why am I so inclined to say "quiet time?" you know it's never actually "quiet!") SPECIAL time at home. Oh, and new Hanukkah gifts accompanied by lots of baking are helpful too.

This little lady has recently decided that she is ready to sit up on her own. Her sense of balance hasn't caught up with her strong-willed resolve, so it is a work in progress. But work she does...

I'm not sure where B picked up this new habit, but it throws me into fits of laughter every time. He holds up his finger, wags it, and says, "Don't tell me that" in a warning sort of way. Of course, this is NOT where a parent should find her amusement, but it is just TOO CUTE!
(Since I FINALLY gave Ryan his "how to use this super fancy camera for dummies" book last night, these pictures should be the last I post taken with my little smart phone. Hooray for great pictures to come! I can't wait!)

Yesterday B wanted to sit down for a project, so we chose to make Hanukkah sun catchers. Since I was in the kitchen making apple sauce (HEAVENLY) I didn't supervise enough. Consequently, it might take the rest of Hanukkah for the too-thick layer of colored glue to dry. They might have to make their window debut next year. But B sure does love playing with his squirt bottles...
The kiddos are doing much better today, so we hope to do some more fun activities and MAYBE, JUST MAYBE see some more special family. (We just have to make sure we're spreading the holiday cheer and not the holiday virus!)

Hugs and kisses to all of our family we are missing right now: GrandAggie, Cici, Aunt Buhbuh, Uncle Tim, Panchita, the Suhres, the Idlers, the Steinbergs, the Rosens, the Jussims, the Browns, the Markeys, and more. We wish you happiness this weekend no matter how you are celebrating!
