One of the greatest parts of Lago Vista is a closer proximity to cousins...
We also got to attend our first heifer auction...
And shortly after our departure, we were back in Cypress to visit B's BFF, Crews...
But we made it back to LV in time to celebrate Cinco de Mayo at our new, local Lupe Tortilla...
We went to a birthday party at the lake...but the birthday girl was sick...so...
And, all of the sudden, we were "Lake People..."
We even went to eat on the lake at the Gnarly Gar where we fed the giant catfish...
B and I had a special date night for his Mother-Son dance at school...but there really wasn't much dancing...
Can you see him doing the Conga?
And we visited a house again. Not ours. Don't get excited...
And there was some Lincoln log construction at the ranch...
I was asked to keep a record of this...so...
And then THIS...
Mother's Day landed us a new, Big Green Egg smoker! We didn't have time for a long smoke that day, but we did make a great gluten free pizza and dessert!
The kids collected wood from a tree that had fallen during the storms...
The kids feed the deer...
NOT corn. Don't get excited now...
This is Snowflake, the fawn...
Too close to the golf path. I was worried...had to alert the mowers and babysit all day...
But Mama did come back...14 hours later...
And we smoke a turkey...
And B earned his "Tiger" in his new Cub Scouts pack...
Then they played outside...
I have no idea...
Snowflake returned...
As if school weren't fun enough, B even enjoyed a FIELD TRIP to A FARM!
And the following weekend was Lago Fest and Memorial Day...
No joke. I had to take her to that port-a-can...
Ryan got some stylish, new hippie shoes...
And they pet a goat...
And they played bubble soccer...
B loved it and even scored a goal!
Some sort of torture...
The fawn thing may be boring to you, but it was a big part of our lives during this month!
On the Monday of Memorial Day, Ryan had the great idea to head to Longhorn Caverns and take a tour. It was really fun. Great idea to beat some summer heat and questionable weather...
